Relational Horsepersonship offers participants opportunities to develop new life skills through working with a natural herd of horses. It promotes the connection and relationship between horses and humans, focussing on the quality of the relationship between the two in the process of achieving SMART goals. This helps to develop connection, communication, confidence, and skills in building positive inter- and intra-personal relationships. Through positive-reinforcement based experiential corrective emotional experiences, participants will be able to work at their own pace with their equine partner.
As with our other available psychotherapy processes, we work with an evidence-based approach. With Relational Horsepersonship this involves taking into consideration the horse’s psychological and physical needs, and the ethology, welfare and well-being of the horse in order to explain and help understand how horses communicate and form their own relationships. Even though horses don’t think the same way as humans, the knowledge and experience we gain through the process is directly transferrable to human relationships.
As you learn more about the horses’ relationships and your relationship with your equine partner, through the mindful practice of introspection, you’ll learn to question motives and the way you as a human approach things, helping you develop skills including resilience, adaptability to meeting life’s challenges, self-efficacy and mental health and well-being.

Working with our therapeutic herd of horses can give us a better understanding of our emotions and how to manage them more effectively.
We, along with our therapy horses, will provide you with the tools to discover your own inner sense of calm when facing the challenges that life might present. We do this in an engaging, fun and innovative way, helping you to develop:
SELF-AWARENESS – because horses are highly sensitive and responsive to your feelings and body language
EMOTIONAL FITNESS and WELLBEING – because horses give you clear and instant feedback to changes in your emotional states
COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIP SKILLS – by responding to you, in the moment and without any agenda or judgement (the reactions given by the horse will always be authentic, helping you to recognise how your interactions affect them)
LEADERSHIP SKILLS – by helping you establish healthy boundaries, calm assertiveness
EMPOWERMENT – self-awareness, self-regulation, self-esteem, self-efficacy. “You’re aware of your patterns and behaviours and have created a space of choice for yourself”
PERSONAL RIGHTS – have the right to personal space. also learning how to best respect the space and opinions of others
